Meet the Patrons
Marino began his racing career in karts at 8 years winning various Scottish Championships en route to his short single seater career between 1997 - 2000.
In 2001 Marino turned to sportscars; driving for Porsche Cars GB he won the British GTO Championship and was awarded the BRDC John Wolfe Trophy. Despite regular returns to Europe to compete in many famous 24 Hour races such as Silverstone, Spa, Nürburgring and Le Mans, Marino turned to racing in the USA in 2002. In his first race he was 2nd splitting the two works’ Porsches.
After driving for several famous GT teams in the American Le Mans Series, including Ferrari Risi, as well as Audi North America, he also won and took podiums in the Grand-Am Championship. In 2007 Marino graduated to prototypes with Andretti Green Racing and has since won many races. In 2009 he was runner-up in the ALMS LMP2 Championship taking 10 podiums from 10 races including 3 pole positions and 3 fastest laps, and in 2010 with co-drivers David Brabham and Simon Pagenaud he was ALMS LMP2 Champion for Highcroft Racing.
At the start of 2012 Marino was to drive for the Peugeot works’ team who unexpectedly announced their withdrawal from sportscar racing last month! He is currently the first named driver in the evolutionary DeltaWing project to run at the Le Mans 24 Hours this year.
