The Richard Burns Foundation has received a cheque for £24,000 from Kings Lynn and District Motor Club following the third running of the Richard Burns Memorial Rally last summer.

Colin Shinkins, the club’s president, and Paul Lloyd, the Officer Commanding RBMR Wing Commander, made the presentation at Royal Air Force Marham in Norfolk on February 4 to RBF chairman David Lapworth.

Event sponsor Steve Tilburn, Squadron Leader Alan Huyton, event founder Sergeant Chris Daykin and event director Ken Paterson also attended the cheque handover at the base, which has hosted the hugely popular rally since 2008.

“We are proud to represent a fantastic team of rally and RAF volunteers organising a fitting tribute to Richard and in this, our third year, to raise a total of over £91,500.00 for the charities,” said Paterson.

This year’s event is scheduled at Royal Air Force Marham for August 13/14.
