Rising rally star Dave Weston Junior has expressed his thanks to the Richard Burns Foundation and the organisers of Rallye Sunseeker for enabling him to attend the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this month.
The Scot won the Richard Burns Trophy on Rallye Sunseeker back in February after topping the Production Cup section of the gravel event. In addition to a £1000 cash prize, Weston also received an invitation to take part on the Forest Rally Stage during the Goodwood showcase.
He said: "I had never been to Goodwood before and was blown away by it all. I was asked to take part in the opening ceremony with Ken Block and Freddy Loix in front of Goodwood House on Thursday night, and that was just amazing. The whole event was fantastic, I got to do plenty of runs through the rally stage taking various people through the stage to give them a quick glimpse of rallying. It was a real honour and privilege to be there, and I can't thank Rallye Sunseeker and the Richard Burns Foundation enough for this experience.”
Weston Junior is contesting the British Rally Championship this season in addition to selected rounds of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.
