RBF raises over £73,000 for Chestnut Tree House Hospice - Festival of Speed 2014

RBF HELP RAISE OVER £73,000 FOR CHESTNUT TREE HOUSE - 2014 GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED BENEFICIARY - PAYING FOR 10.6 DAYS OF HOSPICE CARE.

Chestnut Tree House is the only children's hospice in Sussex and cares for 300 children and young adults from 0-25 years of age with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses from East and West Sussex and South East Hampshire. Our goal is to provide the best quality of life for children, young people and their families, and to offer a total package of practical, social and spiritual support throughout each child’s life, however short it may be.

It costs almost £3 million each year to provide all our care services both at the House and out in the community. That equates to a staggering £6,850 per day or £285 per hour. Families are never charged for their care and the hospice receives less than 8% from central government, so we rely heavily on the generosity, help and support of our community to enable us to continue providing vital care to children and families .
